What sparked RN Fitness? (5 Min Read)

Hi, my name is Nick and I am the owner, founder of RN Fitness. First off I want to say thank you for checking out our website. I really hope you like what we are about! Our Goal for RN Fitness is to inspire people to start their fitness journey and reach their fitness goals. To show you the only person standing in your way is you. We want to give you more information, we want to encourage you to; inspire and motivate other people, to help each other improve, and crush our goals and grow together! 

So what started RN fitness? Well it was really more of a passion for fitness and wanting to make my career around it but once it started rolling it was clear we wanted to do more then just help people reach their fitness goals. We want to help people reach ANY of their goals. To give you that motivation you need to start Right Now.

My fitness journey started with my father when I was a kid. He had some weights in the basement. I started going down there with him and just doing some push ups, pull ups and sit ups. Once I was old enough he started taking me the gym once a week or so. That is really where my fitness journey all started. 

Being a kid and new to a gym surrounded by people who have been working out for a while can be pretty nerve wracking but the more I went the more comfortable I was. I was surrounded by good people, the gym was more than just a business the people mattered and it showed. Unfortunately a lot of places only care about the money and that is one thing I am hoping to change with RN Fitness because at the end of the day your health is one of the most important things in life. 

My biggest inspiration at the gym was a personal trainer named Doug. He turned out to be like an older brother to me, he mentored me, taught me new exercises, helped me make goals, meal plans, workout plans that worked for me. Doug was extremely passionate about the gym and the more time I spent with him the more my passion for it grew. Having someone who wanted to see me exceed my goals was the biggest motivation for me. The positive feedback and encouragement from him was unmatched by any body or anything else.

The more time I spent at the gym the more I noticed how Doug wasn't just an inspiration to me... he was inspiring everyone. Watching Doug work as a personal trainer was motivational. You could tell it was more than a job to him. He wanted to make a difference. He always wanted to help people, see them do their best, and see them succeed. It was motivational for me to see someone else take that action of wanting to help people grow for more than just the money. It was a passion of his and he loved his job.

The goal for RN fitness is to make a difference in the lives of those who want to start caring, or those who already care about their health. We want to give back the way my friend Doug did. We understand that fitness and living healthy isn’t a hobby it is a lifestyle and it should be treated like it. Countless hours every week get put into your health whether its diet or exercise. Those hours shouldn't feel like work or be stressful. Those hours should be fun and enjoyable. 

How is RN fitness going to give back? Well for starters we want to utilize our social media accounts to make posts showing different workouts for different styles of exercise because there isn’t one generic plan that works for everyone. We are all different and have to train differently to achieve the results we want. RN Fitness wants to show you how many different styles there are, how to do them properly so you can see what works for you! The plan is to give you a variety of training styles and you can choose what works best for you. We want to help you eat healthy, motivate, and inspire you so you can stay on track! We also want to encourage a positive atmosphere surrounding the people who want to change their lifestyle. What we mean by that is instead of recording a video of someone who is new and doesn’t know what they are doing go help them. If you know enough to see that they’re doing it wrong you know enough to be able to help.

One day Doug said something that would stay with me for the rest of my life and it was "Always give credit where credit is due." Doug was a very honest person and he always told me when I was doing something wrong but he always acknowledged when I was doing something right too. Often times we only point out the mistakes people are making, instead of offering help we put them down. Always recognized when someone who has been working hard and shows progress because positive feedback is more motivating than negative comments. So let's come together and make a positive change! Let's make it about the people and let's help each other grow. Lets crush our goals, together! Thank you!
